Ms. Kyna Bate-Boyle, Grade 1 Teacher

Hello, My name is Ms. Bate-Boyle, but my first graders can call me Ms. B.B. My educational journey throughout my 22 years of teaching has brought me here, to The Journey School this school year. I am excited to begin my new journey here teaching first grade!

I have taught in a wide range of educational settings, grade levels, and districts. Throughout my years, I have taught K-12th grade in both general education and special education. I have a Master’s Degree from Augsburg University in Educational Leadership and a B.S. in Elementary Education from State University of New York College in Buffalo, NY. My work in charter schools and nonprofit organizations has given me vast experience in working with youth in a variety of settings. My passion is and always will be education and uplifting and supporting our students in every way possible.

I currently live in Maplewood, MN, and live with my fiance, three children, two dogs, and a kitten! In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, gardening, cooking, visiting with my younger sister & nephew who live in London, England, and bringing our children on as many adventures as possible!

I look forward to teaching our next generation of learners and instilling in them the love of learning, which will carry them throughout their years of education. Additionally, I am also excited to support my fellow teachers and staff within our community at The Journey School.
